Hi guys, I didn't realize anyone else had actually joined this tribe. I feel so proud. So has anyone here actually finished reading Infinite Jest? More importantly, if you've gotten to the last page of the book, are you actually finished, or did you feel the urge to start over again and figure out what the hell you missed?

Re: Wow, Members!
Sat, June 19, 2004 - 7:17 PMI've read it twice, and not in a row, although I did have the urge. The second time was good, but not as satisfying as the first. You could probably say that about a lot of things.
Has anyone read Stephen Burn's study of Infinite Jest www.amazon.com/exec/obido...175-2018418 It provides a DFW biography and, most importantly, a chronological account of all of the events in IJ.
I'm still waiting for his newest book of stories to come to Maui. We're a little slow to get new releases. -

Mon, June 21, 2004 - 3:56 PMi havent read that yet, tho i have had it in my hands many times....
if youre hungry for more info, the wallace-l mailing list is great...theyve done group readings and talk endlessly about details and errata...its at waste.org
if youve read anything by wallace in various magazines in the past 4 or 5 years, youll have read the bulk of oblivion. still, its great to have everything collected in one place.... -
